MERRILL, Wis. (WAOW) — Les & Jim’s Lincoln Lanes offered free bowling and free lunch to kids.
They also offered WI-FI access to those without internet access.
General Manager Kevin Jacoby says he lost power Thursday in the early hours. He wanted to help others with the same problem.
“And I said ‘you know, man, I’m cold,’ ” said Jacoby. “And I said ‘I think a lot of people are so what if we kicked open the hall?’ And it kind of grew from there in the morning. Well, let’s get some hot chocolate and coffee. Well, why don’t we just do a little lunch. We got some hotdogs and chips. And it gives people a place to go to kind of warm up.”
He added that dozens of people came out to take up the offer.
