Hannibal (WGEM) — City leaders in Hannibal celebrated the all-new $6.6 million dollar riverfront on Thursday.
They hope the ribbon cutting will signal the beginning of a new chapter for tourism in Hannibal.
The ceremony was held to celebrate the new riverfront dock, which can now hold three riverboats as well as the Mark Twain Riverboat.
The project replaced numerous infrastructure issues and also added a new marina and boat ramp.
Hannibal Convention and Visitors Bureau Director Gail Bryant say this is something that will bring visitors for years to come.
“Its more than tourism its for the community,” said Bryant. “Its such an asset and a draw for Hannibal”
