National Australia Bank Advised Of Referral To AUSTRAC Enforcement Team; Stock Down

No Comments(RTTNews) – Shares of National Australia Bank Ltd. (NAUBF.PK, NABZY.PK, NAB.AX) or NAB were losing around 3 percent in Australian trading after Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre or AUSTRAC informed that it has identified serious concerns with NAB’s compliance with the Anti-Money Laundering or AML and Counter-Terrorism Financing or CTF Act 2006 and the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Rules 2007. The concerns have been referred to AUSTRAC’s enforcement team, which has initiated a formal enforcement investigation. In a letter dated June 4, AUSTRAC advised NAB that it is the agency’s view that there is “potential serious and ongoing non-compliance” with customer identification procedures, ongoing customer due diligence and compliance with Part A of NAB’s AML/CTF Program. The Australian government financial intelligence agency stated that it has not made any decision about whether or not enforcement action would be taken. According to AUSTRAC, at this stage, it is not considering civil penalty proceedings and that this decision is “reflective of the work undertaken” by NAB to date. Autodesk Confirms A$38.50/shr Proposal To Buy Altium

(ADSK) confirmed that it has submitted a non-binding proposal to acquire all the outstanding shares of common stock of Altium Limited (ALU.AX) for A$38.50 per share, to be implemented by way of a scheme of arrangement. Altium is a software company headquartered in San Diego, California and publicly traded on the Australian Securities Exchange. The company develops software used by printed circuit board (PCB) designers and electrical engineers at organizations around the world to deliver connected, intelligent products. The proposal represents a 41.5% premium over Altium’s closing price of A$27.21 on June 4, 2021.

(RTTNews) – The Hong Kong stock market has finished lower in three straight sessions, sinking more than 550 points or 1.8 percent along the way. The Hang Seng Index now rests just shy of the 28,920-point plateau although it’s expected to stop the bleeding on Monday. The global forecast for the Asian markets is positive in response to U.S. employment data and rising crude oil prices. The European and U.S. markets were up and the Asian bourses are tipped to open in similar fashion. The Hang Seng finished slightly lower on Friday following mixed performances from the financials, properties, casinos, technology stocks and oil companies. For the day, the index slid 47.93 points or 0.17 percent to finish at 28,918.10 after trading between 28,737.97 and 29,023.18. The Taiwan Stock Exchange now sits just beneath the 17,150-point plateau although it’s expected to find renewed support again on Monday. The global forecast for the Asian markets is positive in response to U.S. employment data and rising crude oil prices. The European and U.S. markets were up and the Asian bourses are tipped to open in similar fashion. (RTTNews) – The South Korea stock market on Friday wrote a finish to the five-day winning streak in which it had gathered almost 85 points or 2.5 percent. The KOSPI now sits just above the 3,240-point plateau although it’s expected to bounce higher again on Monday. The global forecast for the Asian markets is positive in response to U.S. employment data and rising crude oil prices. The European and U.S. markets were up and the Asian bourses are tipped to open in similar fashion. The KOSPI finished modestly lower on Friday as losses from the financials and technology stocks were mitigated by support from the automobile companies. For the day, the index shed 7.35 points or 0.23 percent to finish at 3,240.08 after trading between 3,218.67 and 3,246.19. Volume was 1.4 billion shares worth 15.8 trillion won. China Trade Data Due On Monday

(RTTNews) – China will on Monday release May figures for imports, exports and trade balance, headlining a modest day for Asia-Pacific economic activity. Imports are expected to skyrocket 51.5 percent on year after jumping 43.1 percent in April. Exports are called higher by an annual 32.1 percent after rising 32.3 percent in the previous month. The trade surplus is pegged at $50.5 billion, up from $42.85 billion a month earlier. Australia will see May results for the Performance of Services Index from the Australian Industry Group and for job ads from ANZ. In April, the services index score was 61.0, while job ads jumped 4.7 percent on month. Japan will see preliminary April figures for its leading and coincident economic indexes; in March, their scores were 102.5 and 93.0, respectively. Finally, the markets in New Zealand (queen’s birthday) and Malaysia (Yang Dipertuan Agong’s birthday) are closed on Monday and will re-open on Tuesday.
