For the seventh consecutive year, the Women in Business Advisory Forum (WIBAF), a networking group of the Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce, awarded $1,000 scholarships to female high school seniors in the Palatine community.
This year’s recipients are Becca Ruffalo from William Fremd High School and Jillian Smith from Palatine High School.
Ruffalo will attend Indiana University in the Kelley School of Business with a plan to major in both finance and marketing. In addition to her high academic achievements and a 4.01 weighted GPA through seven semesters, Ruffalo was captain of the varsity cheerleading team, a member of the National Honor Society and the Vikings United Club, and an active community volunteer for organizations including Feed My Starving Children, Phil’s Friends, and Willow Creek Community Church.
