Colorado business leaders are expressing record-high levels of optimism about the economy as the world continues its return to normalcy after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Heading into the third quarter of 2021, the University of Colorado Boulder Leeds Business Research division’s quarterly Business Confidence Index shows that state business people are feeling positive about all facets of the economy.
“It’s really the normalization of the economy that drove their thoughts,” Brian Lewandowski, executive director of the Leeds Business Research Division, said Thursday.
The quarterly report marks Colorado business leaders’ expectations for the state and national economies, industry sales, industry profits, hiring and business spending.
About 250 business leaders responded to the latest survey, run between June 1 and June 21, 2021.
The overall index stands at a record 67.3 looking ahead to the third quarter, up 2.9 points from the second quarter. A…
