AVON, Ohio – A lot of local businesses have closed for good due to the pandemic. But now that more and more businesses are reopening and many are making masks a personal choice, many people are planning outings such as shopping trips and dining out.
Avon Mayor Bryan Jensen can relate in an emotional way to the plight of small businesses during the last year. His family owned a small business and also ran into hard times during the 2008 financial crisis that hit everyone across the country in one way or another.
Here is his communication to residents about his worries for local businesses and the need to whole-heartedly go out now and support the small businesses that struggled so hard during the pandemic to make goods and services available and to help keep their customers safe.
