Big Hayward business park lands buyer, life sciences revamp eyed

HAYWARD — A big East Bay business park that could be headed for a revamp as a life sciences complex has been bought by a Bay Area real estate investor.

Mt. Eden Research Park on Industrial Boulevard in Hayward has been bought by San Francisco-based GI Partners, according to JLL, a commercial real estate firm that helped to arrange the property deal.

BentallGreenOak was the seller of the six-building campus.

“Tenant demand for life sciences space is outpacing supply,” JLL stated Tuesday.

The research complex totals 24.8 acres and has addresses ranging from 25801 to 25901 Industrial Blvd. in Hayward.

Brokers Will Connors, Rob Hielscher, Michael Leggett, Adam Lasoff, Erik Hanson, Daniel Renz, David Dokko and Michael Manas made up the JLL team that handled the deal.

“Life sciences is currently one of the most in-favor asset classes,” said Hielscher, a senior managing director with JLL.
