Business organizations to host job fair to connect employees to Downriver talent – The News Herald

One of the most significant issues facing Downriver employers and the workforce is the current worker shortage crisis.

Businesses and nonprofit agencies throughout the region say they’re  challenged with filling important positions as employers work toward expanding operations and services with the recent rescinding of COVID-19 restrictions in Michigan.

As a part of an ongoing effort to assist this region’s businesses and workforce in finding positive solutions to the current worker shortage, the Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber, in partnership with the Downriver Community Conference, is hosting the Downriver Outdoor Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 22, at the SEMCA Michigan Works! Southgate American Job Center, 15100 North Line Road.

The event is designed to connect Downriver’s entrepreneurs and employers with strong, regional talent. The event is also sponsored by Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency.
