DESOTO COUNTY, Miss. — Booming. That is how some small businesses in DeSoto County describe sales this Christmas season.
As FOX13 found out, this retail season is setting a fast pace for many in the DeSoto County area. A number of small business owners said business was good last Christmas.
At Ultimate Gifts in Solo Square, it’s even better this year.
”It’s been phenomenal. I never thought we could top last year, but 2021 has proven to be incredible. I think it has to do with all the new shops that are in Silo Square and all the things happening in DeSoto County,” Lauren Norton with Ultimate Gifts said.
Norton said she thinks that this year’s banner sales may have something to do with supply chain issues elsewhere.
”I think that COVID had a lot to do with that. A lot of the big box stores don’t have everything you need, and a lot of people realize the customer service you get with shopping small,” Norton said.
