Summertime brings the heat and what better way to cool off than a day of swimming? The Bonners Ferry Municipal Pool offers community members exactly that.
The pool opened June 11 and is open seven days a week through Aug. 11, although city administrator Lisa Ailport is hoping to extend the season.
“The city applied for a grant to the Equinox Foundation to extend the pool season three additional weeks this year,” she commented. “If successful, which we will learn in the coming weeks … we plan to extend the pool season until Sept. 4. We applied to the Equinox Foundation for around $15,000 to cover expenses with operating the pool as well as to purchase an AED [automated external defibrillator] for the facility.
