UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Iowa (KWWL) – A new hotel in University Heights promises to give visiting Hawkeye fans an unforgettable experience. The Courtyard Marriott Iowa City University Heights opened earlier this month, following 3.5 years of planning and construction.
The hotel is just .2 miles and a five-minute walk from the south entrance of Kinnick Stadium.
“I knew this thing was going to be great, I just didn’t know it was going to be this great,” owner and Iowa alumnus Greg Stiltner said. “I think once people see it, they’re going to really love it.”
Stiltner was looking for a full-service restaurant to fill the top floor of the six-story building but because of the pandemic, had trouble finding anyone. So, they decided to keep it as a private event space.
