The home is the eighth in the Chicago area to sell for $8 million or more so far in 2021, compared to seven in 2020 and three in 2019. It’s also the highest-priced home sale in Glencoe since July 2019, when buyers paid almost $9.7 million for a home on Wentworth Avenue.
The Gourlays put the home, which sits on about three-quarters of an acre with a strip of private beach, on the market July 5 at a little under $9 million, and July 8 it went under contract. The sale closed Dec. 17.
The couple paid $8 million for the house in December 2013. It’s about 7.5 miles from the Deerfield headquarters of Walgreens Boots Alliance. The Gourlays bought the property through a trust that conceals their names, but several records online confirm they were the residents of the Longwood Avenue home.
The Gourlays could not be reached for comment. Kathryn Mangel, the @properties agent who represented the home along with Kelly Mangel of the same agency, did not respond…
