Jesse Craig, whose business headquarters are across the street, told The Forum that he has a signed purchase agreement for the property and is planning an affordable housing development there.
The 1939 building was deemed dangerous and a threat to the public by the Fargo City Commission in May. Reinhart was given until June 30 to have the business — which burned in a three-alarm fire Dec. 5 — demolished. The cause of the fire was undetermined.
With the purchase agreement, the city inspections department has given Craig an extension to clean up the heavily-damaged building, which has collapsing walls and broken windows.
Craig has already had some rubble hauled away from the site, but he said he found a wood floor with well-preserved oak under the the metal warehouse and he plans to salvage the beams before…
