DORA in Piqua’s downtown business district to go into effect Friday – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio

PIQUA — Piqua’s Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area will officially go into effect this week, according to city officials.

The enactment of the DORA comes three months after the city submitted plans for the create the district.

Starting Friday, the DORA will be in effect daily from noon to 10 p.m. The DORA includes parts of the city’s central business district area, bordered by North, Spring, Wood, and Wayne streets and extending west to Water Street and Roosevelt Avenue, city spokesperson said in a media release Wednesday.

Businesses within the district can choose to participate or not participate and can place a green or red DORA window decal near the entrance of the building to indicate if DORA beverages will be permitted, the spokesperson said.
