Dumpster set on fire at Lincoln Park business; other news – The News Herald

A Lincoln Park business employee called  police the morning of July 6 after discovering someone allegedly set fire to their dumpster.

The employee told Lincoln Park police that she last saw the dumpster, at Lauvers Business Systems, 1586 Fort Street, without damage at about 6 p.m. on July 2.

According to a police report, the employee went to surrounding businesses to see if any of them had security cameras that might have captured the culprit on camera.

None of the businesses could be of help.

Police reported checking the dumpster and found that it had been burned inside and out.

The dumpster was valued at about $3,000, according to the report.

In other police news:

A resident watched her home surveillance camera footage and saw someone walking away from her house with her delivered packages from Amazon that were placed on her front porch.

The incident occurred at about 3 p.m. on July 6 in the 2000 block of Russell Ave.
