DANBURY — Jason Clemence and his family once ran away and joined the circus.
He spent three years as a rigger for Cirque du Soleil and has since designed circus schools and indoor amusement parks, such as Thrillz in Danbury, and other stage and event performances.
Now, he’s bringing ax throwing to a brewery or event near you.
Clemence and his business partner Jon Curns have started a mobile ax-throwing company based in Danbury that aims to use this activity, which is growing in popularity, to bring people out and together after the coronavirus pandemic.
“It’s just a lot of fun,” Clemence said. “It’s something that’s easy to do. It’s got an edginess to it. It’s something different. It’s a little more aggressive, but anybody can do it.”
