AMHERST – Gov. Charlie Baker has appointed Gabrielle Gould to the state’s Economic Assistance Coordinating Council (EACC), to represent western Massachusetts.
Gould is Executive Director of Amherst Business Improvement District, an organization formed in 2014 by local businesses to promote commerce and cultural activity.
The EACC board’s main function is administering the state’s Economic Development Incentive Program (EDIP), involving use of tax breaks and inventive programs to spur growth and commercial initiatives.
“It’s a true honor to represent Western Massachusetts in this important work,” Gould said in an email statement.
“I look forward to serving the Governor, the State and my community on this committee,” she said.
Barry Roberts, President of the Amherst BID, praised the governor’s selection of Gould.
