After over a decade serving up scoops and smiles, Herrell’s Ice Cream in Huntington Village will serve its final cone or cup of ice cream sometime on Saturday.
Owners Cathy and Rick Meuser announced the homemade ice cream shop’s last day of operation will be June 19.
“It is difficult to put into words the gratitude we have for our loyal customers who have made serving homemade ice cream an incredibly rewarding business,” the couple said in an announcement. “The relationships we’ve made with the community over the past 13 years are something that we will keep near and dear to our hearts.”
The family-owned shop was known for its homemade ice cream, most notably its house-made hot fudge and real chocolate sprinkles.
In the official statement, the Meusers said a new ice cream shop will be replacing the 46L Gerard St. location and assured their loyal customer base they will be “in good hands.”…
