It’s easy to see why sibling hip-hop duo Avenu 10 looks up to Grammy-nominated producer DJ U-Neek. The 52-year-old  has been in the business for decades working with artists such as Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Eazy-E and Mack 10.

Beyond his experience and expertise guiding the brothers through the recording of their debut EP, DJ U-Neek, which is the stage name of Los Angeles native Tim Middleton, is also their father. He formed Avenu 10 with his eldest son, 32-year-old Encino resident Tim Middleton, who raps as Tim 8-1-8, and his youngest son, 21-year-old Brenden Hardson, who performs as Tsunami.

“I idolize him, that’s my pops. I always try to put myself in his footsteps,” the younger Middleton said recently during an interview at a North Hollywood studio shortly after the release of their video for “Money Counter,” the first single from their upcoming debut EP “Sumthin 4 Tha Streets,”  which is set for release July 2.
