Little Italy neighborhood is growing, new business to take over

Little Italy is growing. A new business is taking over the former Joe Bananas at 10th and Pacific. There’s a lot of family history in the 10th street corridor and that’s what drew Mike DiGiacomo back. “We have a lot of deep family roots in this neighborhood, my grandma used to own a bar right next to this that’s no longer there. My grandfather owned a bar down the street so this neighborhood has a lot of family ties for us,” DiGiacomo said. He’s putting down his own roots and opening a business.”We see this north bay really opening up to a beer garden and a really nice patio with some garage doors,” DiGiacomo said. “So in the spring and fall when the weather is pretty manageable you can open these up and use the patio.” The building is split in two. The north side will feature a champagne or wine bar that will open to the patio.
