Local businesses closing, shifting hours due to the heat

SPOKANE, Wash. — The extreme heat the Northwest is facing is forcing some places to shut down. Some businesses are shutting their doors for several days.

Even if a few businesses are made to withstand this heat, it’s tough for some people to endure it for more than 10 minutes.

The City of Spokane announced the SkyRide will be closing for most of the week and could possibly close through the holiday weekend because of the heat and maintenance.

As for other businesses, they’re closing up shop to keep their staff and customers safe.

They say if you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. This week, it’s literally true for Ricky Webster, who owns Rind and Wheat.
