Luka Doncic and Slovenia take care of business against Angola

Luka Doncic and the Slovenian National Team kicked off their attempt to qualify for the Olympic Games with a dominant 118-68 destruction of Angola. Luka continued his dominance as a playmaker with 9 assists in only 17 minutes of game play. In the two international games he has played this summer Doncic totaled 26 assists in 45 minutes of game play.

Luka scored 13 points on 4 of 8 shooting from the floor, 1 of 5 shooting from 3-point range and 4 of 5 free throw shooting. The free throw shooting is encouraging; during the playoffs, his free throw shooting was quite poor.

Luka also chipped in six rebounds and an impressive five steals during his limited minutes. Luka has always been a dominant rebounder for a guard but the steals could be a sign of things to come as new coach Jason Kidd’s aggressive defensive schemes should allow for Mavericks players to play the passing lanes more.
