When the COVID-19 pandemic began, Jill Lehrkamp started searching Columbus for the perfect place to hatch her new business.
Lehrkamp, who opened the house-cleaning business Columbus Service Group more than a decade ago, is finally ready for her next venture.
Hopefully, that starts at the former Columbus Carts and Clubs property at 92 Alabama St.
The more than two-acre lot could be transformed into a food truck, splash pad, park and market place by spring of next year.
“I came up with the idea for the food truck court, mainly because of COVID,” Lehrkamp said. “I miss seeing families doing things as a group. I want a place, even if COVID continues to be an issue, where people that want to socially distance can still come and be safe and socially disatanced.”
Lehrkamp said she’s still in the early stages for developing the property. She hopes to finalize on the sale of the Carts and Clubs property “in the next few weeks.” Though…
