Now, the Mitchell couple’s electrical business that started in their Ethan home 50 years ago, has over 400 employees and 10 locations throughout three states in the Upper Midwest. After five decades of rapid growth and becoming one of the area’s largest employers, Thursday evening was a time to celebrate and reflect on the success Muth Electric has enjoyed.
“I don’t think anyone, including ourselves, would have imagined we’d be here today celebrating 50 years of business,” Dick Muth said in front of about 200 people gathered outside the 1717 N. Sanborn Blvd. headquarters. “We had a truck, a desk and an old garage with a leaky roof… We kept going from there, and 50 years later here we are. We now have approximately 220 Muth Electric vehicles and 10 locations in three states.”
