Village Pizza at 543 Big Thompson Ave. in Estes Park closed during the pandemic. The popular eatery reopened two weeks ago with new owners and a new menu.
Antonio Tapia and his family own Burgers & Gyros on Moraine. Now they run the New Village Pizza.
“We had the opportunity to lease this space,” Tapia said. “We took the chance.”
The pizza parlor had been shuttered for about a year.
“There’s a big difference between running Burgers & Gyros and running the New Village Pizza,” Tapia explained. “Pizza is more work. It takes patience. There is more preparation. You have to make the pizza sauce and everything fresh in the morning.”
