Second Street Optique has moved two blocks to 4924 E. Second St. Owner/Optician Marc Schain reports the new location (between Luna and The Belmont Athletic Club, where Herman’s Shoes was previously) is closer to “the center of the Shore.”

Schain, who has been in business 10 years, brings his keen sense of style that he honed as the make-up artist for “Good Morning Germany,” and the years he spent working with cosmetics guru Bobbi Brown.

The shop sells hand-crafted, high-end eyewear by appointment only. Most of the eyewear is imported from Europe and the collection has distinctive designs that Schain personally sources. The new shop’s back wall features a display, “inspired by abstract painter Piet Mondrian,” including famous people wearing iconic eyewear.

“We provide clients one-on one-appointments where the whole store is yours,” Schain explained as his customer service approach in an onsite interview.
