Beth Ward has joined MGM Springfield as community affairs manager, MGM announced Wednesday.
Ward will be the primary media contact for the $1 billion resort casino, and she will assist in social responsibility initiatives including philanthropy, community engagement, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
An award-winning journalist, Ward brings more than 30 years of experience, having recently worked at Western Mass News, where she reported and anchored the evening news, MGM said. Ward left Western Mass News in September.
Ward said she will continue as host of high-school quiz show “As Schools Match Wits” on NEPM-TV, Channel 57, for her 14th season.
Ward has a bachelor’s degree from Western New England University.
She began her television news career as a producer for the morning news at WFSB-TV, Channel 3, in Hartford, before moving to WWLP-TV, Channel 22, in Springfield, in the mid 1980s. After four years, she moved to Washington, D.C., where she…
