Authorities are searching for the driver who fatally struck pedestrian on Business 85 and then left the scene Thursday morning.Troopers with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol said the pedestrian was hit prior to 6:20 a.m. on U.S. 29/70, north of Albertson Road.Troopers responded to the scene and found the body of 61-year-old Robert Kersey, of the Thomasville area.Investigators said a vehicle traveling northbound on US29/70, struck Kersey and fled the scene. As a result of the collision, the pedestrian was fatally wounded and died at the scene.The crash remains under investigation.This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
