Could a son of late reggae star Bob Marley bring a marijuana research and production plant to Upstate New York?
A company called Ace Vetures LLC is currently looking at potential sites for the marijuana facility in Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse, according a report at the Buffalo Business Journal.
Ace, according to the report, is a start-up cannabis company whose investors include Rohan Marley, a son of the reggae star whose association with marijuana (or ganja) is legendary. Other Ace investors are Kareem “Biggs” Burke, co-founder of Jay-Z’s Roc-A-Fella Records; Dan Fireman, founder of Boston-based Fireman Capital Partners; and Gee Roberson, co-founder of BPG Music.
Ace Ventures representatives are meeting with Buffalo development leaders June 15, according to the Business Journal report, which cites Buffalo city officials as the source. Ace’s plan includes a 100,000-square-foot, $25 million cannabis R&D and production center, the report said….
