Reporter Annalise Frank takes over Crain’s Detroit Business’ cannabis coverage

Crain’s Detroit Business is realigning its coverage of cannabis as it develops into one of Michigan’s key growth industries.

Crain’s reporter Annalise Frank has added responsibility for covering cannabis business to her continuing coverage of the city of Detroit. Frank is assuming the cannabis beat from Dustin Walsh, who is now covering health care full time.

Frank has reported for Crain’s Detroit Business for more than four years, starting as a general assignment reporter and later taking on coverage of the city of Detroit. She will continue to cover the city government and its impact on business.

“Cannabis is an industry that will shape our state’s economy for years to come,” Executive Editor Kelley Root said. “We’re aiming to cover it closely as the industry matures and evolves.”

Frank previously worked as an editor at the English language Viet Nam News in Hanoi. She is a graduate of Northwestern University outside Chicago.
