Saginaw Township business family face 24 felonies in thefts of heavy-duty equipment

SAGINAW TWP, MI — A Saginaw Township business-owning family is facing dozens of felonies for reportedly stealing heavy-duty machinery from around the state.

Police on Tuesday, June 22, arrested husband and wife Andrew J. Csongradi, 50, and Julie A. Csongradi, 52, and their 23-year-old son, Zackary A. Csongradi. The family owns Zackary Electric, located at 7897 McCarty Road.

Saginaw Township Police Chief Donald F. Pussehl Jr. said that back in March, his officers were contacted by Livonia police officers who were investigating the theft of a Bobcat from a work site. A transmitter on the Bobcat indicated it was at the family’s business, Pussehl said.

“Officers went out there and confirmed there were several pieces of stolen equipment on that property,” the chief said. “None of it was stolen from within Saginaw Township. It was all from other work sites throughout the state, maybe as far as Ohio.”
