San Diego State University Tuesday renamed its Education and Business Administration Building as Lamden Hall in honor of the late Charles W. Lamden, a former accounting department chair and business dean, and his wife, Gertrude “Trudy” Lamden.
“Charles W. Lamden served as a mentor to hundreds of San Diego State University students and colleagues over a period of 45 years,” said SDSU President Adela de la Torre and Adrienne D. Vargas, vice president for university relations and development, in a joint statement.
“Lamden Hall serves to both recognize and preserve the memory, legacy and many philanthropic contributions the Lamden family made in service to the university.
“The naming also recognizes the many contributions Charles W. Lamden made to his field, his students and to higher education,” the statement read.
