Shopper finds ‘train wreck’ at Albany Dollar General store, says its indicative of neglect toward the South End

That was the first thing that entered Roni Minter’s mind when they walked into the Dollar General on South Pearl Street Tuesday.

Minter, who lives on North Pearl Street and had an appointment at a nearby clinic on South Pearl, only stopped in because their granddaughter wanted to. They were immediately flabbergasted.

Christmas wrapping and boxes were strewn about the floor. Empty shelves were found in multiple aisles and merchandise cluttered the floors. Minter had to push past boxes and metal carts to get from one end of the aisle to the other on their electric scooter. 
“I couldn’t believe what I was seeing,” Minter said. “It is a train wreck.”

Feeling dismayed, Minter decided to take a video of what they were seeing.
