MAHANOY CITY — Workers are preparing the site for construction in the Mahanoy Business Park where three warehouses will go up in the near future.
Frank Zukas, president of the Schuylkll Economic Development Corporation said the developer of the project is NorthPoint Development of Kansas City, Missouri, the same developer responsible for a massive warehouse on the site of the former Schuylkill Mall near Frackville.
He said that NorthPoint has not said if any tenants have committed to occupy the warehouses in the Mahanoy park, meaning the warehouses can be constructed and then made available for a company to occupy.
“They can build in speculation unless they already have an end user, then they will build to the specifications of that user,” Zukas said.
The three warehouses will be 1,100,100 square feet, 850,440 square feet and 500,460 square feet and include water, sewage and electrical service.
