June 15 has come and gone, and a month after finally being able to see people’s faces below their noses, the loosened restrictions that came along with it seem to be going away once again as case numbers continue to rise.
Woodland residents have been able to enter establishments without masks, and restaurants have enjoyed the ability to be more lenient on patrons who do not wish to wear masks since the state ‘reopened’ last month.
However, Yolo County COVID-19 cases have tripled in the last month — in line with statewide case increases — largely due to the prevalence of the Delta variant that is significantly more transmissible than other strains of the virus.
