Southeast Salem businesses join together to boost local shopping

Business owners are banding together to tackle issues in their southeast Salem neighborhood. The group met recently to consider how to organize.

Businesses located on Southeast 12th and 13th streets met on July 1 to discuss the formation of Project 12 13. Over 30 people gathered outside of Furbish: A Salvage Place to discuss ways to improve their part of Salem.

Organizers included: Dean and Nancy Sweeney and Erik Wurgler of Sweeney Promotions,  Brian and Nina White from Paramount Real Estate; Joel and Cindy Cowley, owners of Furbish and Matthew White from The Killers Pest Control.
