State, Cheyenne LEADS release 5-year hydrogen economy plan

GILLETTE, Wyo. — The Wyoming Energy Authority and nonprofit economic development entity Cheyenne LEADS announced Thursday the released of a roadmap for Wyoming to lead the region in the low-carbon hydrogen economy.

The five-year Roadmap to Build A Hydrogen Economy describes specific roles and responsibilities for stakeholders from 2022 to 2026 to deliver the vision while addressing challenges.

Together, they want to develop infrastructure to transport and store hydrogen and manage carbon, end use options and evolving markets, resources for strong, decarbonized production, policy for advancing hydrogen as an energy source and workforce and community infrastructure.

Challenges relate to evolving regulations, infrastructure and investment in infrastructure, supply chain, return on investment and water, the plan said.
