Summit Nutrition features “Base Camp” Friday – Estes Park Trail-Gazette

A new tour company has just opened for business in Estes Park called Heathen Creek Outfitters, which is owned and operated by Ian Mauhs. Mauhs is celebrating the beginning of this new venture on Fri., June 25, with a lunch party to ‘meet the guide’ at Summit Nutrition (“Base Camp”) on 165 Virginia Dr.

Mauhs has done extreme tours, but his passion is helping people connect with nature and the environment.

The launch party will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for interested parties to discuss trip ideas and make reservations. Mauhs offers Jeep tours into Rocky Mountain National Park everyday except Tue., at 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and a sunset tour (18+ only). An outing can include a combination of modular activities like visiting a waterfall, swimming in a water-hole, summiting a peak, following elk, or learning about the natural environment.
