We’re back!
The volunteer staff of the Open Book has been busy updating its inventory, adding new and popular books and culling old stock. The bookstore is open from 11 a.m. through 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, with hopes to extend hours along with the Ramona Library.
Because the library has been designated a “cool zone,” masks are required under county Health Department rules.
The Friends of the Ramona Library support the library as it strives to encourage literacy, lifelong learning and the love of reading in our diverse community.
The Friends are funded mainly through book sales, used books in the Open Book and online sales through Amazon. Smile Amazon is another fundraiser, as well as membership dues, donations and the sale of tiles for the donor wall.
We provide funds for crafts, special programs, magazines, newspapers and special expenditures. This year the Friends have allocated $16,710 to support library initiatives — probably about half of…
