University of Massachusetts Lowell will resume some business operations on Thursday after the school closed for two days citing a possible cyberattack.
On Wednesday the school’s temporary website, UMassLowell.com updated the community writing that classes will be canceled on Thursday and the university will be closed Friday for the Juneteenth holiday. Officials are working to adjust summer class timelines to make up for the canceled classes.
According to the website, UMass has control over their IT infrastructure and is working with a cyber forensics firm “to identify, evaluate and eliminate any issues that are discovered.” They are prioritizing restoration of academic systems and databases, including Blackboard and Zoom.
