VFW open for business this Christmas

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – One bar in Rochester is staying open all Christmas for those who want to celebrate the holiday together.

The VFW originally planned to be closed on Christmas, but after the staff noticed not many other places were going to be open, a few employees came forward and volunteered to work on Christmas.

The resturant opened up around 9 a.m. Saturday and have been open to all members of the public since.

The VFW received food donations from Chester’s and Canadian Honker, and a few other monetary donations from other local businesses.

The team at the VFW hope that their bar can be a place for people to gather rather than being alone this holiday.

“People can come together and celebrate friendship and fellowship with other people that they may or may not know. It’s a good time to meet new people and get able to enjoy a holiday with other people instead of sitting at home by yourself,”
