June 15 has finally arrived, and with it, a wave of confusion as businesses and customers now need to figure out what is and is not safe.
“It’s kind of like a state of confusion because you want to still be careful and make the customers feel comfortable,” Amanda Bowers, morning supervisor at Main Street Lounge, said.
California transitioned from its color-coded tier system to the Beyond the Blueprint system with less intensive rules for businesses and social activity. The new system largely leaves it up to businesses to enforce mask requirements for patrons.
The switch to the new system means there are no longer capacity restrictions, no physical distancing restrictions — except for workers and students — no mask requirement for vaccinated individuals except on public transit, in the workplace, medical facilities, schools, correctional facilities and shelters, according to Yolo County Communications Coordinator Frank Schneegas.
