Wyoming Business Council considering Torrington’s $6M request for large feed mill project

CASPER, Wyo. — The Wyoming Business Council said on Monday that its board of directors will be considering a grant and loan request from the City of Torrington during its upcoming quarterly meeting in Casper.

The City of Torrington has requested a $3 million Business Ready Community grant as well as a $3 million Business Ready Community loan. The $6 million would be for a project to construct a feed mill, warehouse and retail store for M Lazy Heart Ranch on 12 acres of city-owned land.

The property is located in Torrington’s Eastside Industrial Park.

“The proposed feed mill will have the capacity to grind, mix or pellet 65,000 tons of feed per year using a semi-automated system,” the Wyoming Business Council said.

M Lazy Heart is looking to obtain federal licenses to mix and manufacture Type B medicated feeds, according to the WBC.
