Young Entrepreneurs Participate In First Norman Children’s Business Fair

Children participated in a Norman business fair where they got their first taste of what it’s like to own their own business.

Thirty young entrepreneurs set up shop here at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds for the first annual Norman’s children’s business fair.

“When you take kids seriously and give them an opportunity to do something great, then they will rise to that occasion,” Evergreen: an Acton Academy head of school and co-founder Matina Hunnell said.

These young innovators’ ages range from 6 to 16. For many of them, this was their first time attending a marketplace, but you can’t tell when speaking to them.

Amberly Shroyer is 8 years old. She’s the business owner for Amberly’s Sweet Relief. She uses to help those in the community in need with the money she earns.

“My money goes to food and shelter where I celebrate birthday celebrations at food and shelter for the homeless and I give presents,” Shroyer said.
